I am not a woodworker, but I ordered this book as a gift because I have seen Mr. Lamm's work at shows, galleries, and in the community. His commissioned cross, at a local Lutheran Church, and his podium at a local Synogogue, are stunning and beautiful. The book is divided into readable and enjoyable sections. The first is a brief history of how Mr. Lamm came to be a wood artist. The second goes on to explain the unique characteristics of different woods and how they respond, something he knows well. The last is an explanation of the techniques he's developed, with illustrations. The book is readable, enjoyable and indispensable for beginning woodworkers who want to expand their repertoire or artisans looking for new and interesting techniques. I know my brother will enjoy this gift and highly recommend the book under its old name, Curved Joinery and The Spirit of a Woodworker, and its new name, Curved Joinery, A New Technique in Woodworking).Product details

It was a joy to experience the journey that Marc has traveled and how woodworking has always been part of his spirit.
Absolutely beautiful pieces!! I have seen many in person and photos do not do them justice. Marc explains his unique process of wood working in a straight forward way.
I am probably one of few that has had a chance to see a live demonstration of these techniques. The results as the woods blend and give a story of the soul and inspiration of this artist is amazing.
Really well done. I going to try some of these techniques !!

The book represents the beautiful work of the author. His wood work is hung in several buildings of faith and business organizations in many cities - it now wonderful to see how Mr. Lamn is able to accomplish his craft.
Great book Marc , no pun intended ..... now with a better understanding how you accomplished your amazing wood art I feel very lucky to be owning one of them . The time to produce a piece of sculpture like that and the price you sold it for really shows your love to create something beautiful the true mind of an Artist.
